Plainview-Old Bethpage welcomed students and staff back to school on Sept. 1, marking the beginning of the 2026–2027 academic year. The opening of the school year brought renewed enthusiasm throughout the District as students returned to their classrooms and the school community resumed its academic and extracurricular activities.

“There is always a special energy that comes with the start of a new school year, and we are excited to welcome our students and families back to POB,” said Dr. Mary O’Meara, Superintendent of Schools. “We look forward to a year filled with meaningful opportunities for every student to learn, grow, connect and experience success.”

As the District begins the 2026–2027 school year, Plainview-Old Bethpage looks forward to supporting students in their academic pursuits, personal development and involvement in the school community. The District wishes all students, families and staff a successful and fulfilling year ahead.
